As an elite field hockey player, I understand the physical, mental, and financial toll that striving for athletic excellence can take on individuals. On top of attending to life’s other commitments, being an athlete is a full time, 24/7 job that is all-encompassing, isolating, and overwhelming at times. I also know that the enduring mental health stigma in the sports world can make it difficult to seek help within your sport community.
Over the course of my athletic career, I have experienced burnout, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, and insomnia that led to dips in my performance. I know my experience is all too common and this is why I am passionate about providing resources and support to individual athletes and teams at all levels.
When athletes have the right support, they thrive, in and out of competition.
